Where it all started

In 2015, John Stubbs bought the rights to the historic Austin brand; Feeling that contemporary EVs were a bit too bland, John hatched an idea to resurrect Austin with an electric vehicle which was both a bit different and eccentrically British at its core, while keeping true to the design principles of Herbert Austin’s early cars.

Fabriction of the first Arrow prototype began in 2019; the car was built entirely by hand using traditional sheet metal tools and to say that designing and building a car from scratch was a learning curve would be an understatement!

Much trial and tribulation later

The Arrow was born and received its individual type certification to became a road legal vehicle. It quickly became clear from the overwhelmingly positive response which the car received that there was a market for a niche EV, and the process of turning the prototype Arrow into a vehicle suitable for low volume production began.

Eight years of development and numerous prototypes later, we present the first ‘new’ Austin – The All-Electric, All-Fun Arrow.

Remaining true to it’s origins

The Arrow is built using modern technology and production techniques, yet it also remains true to it’s origins; elements of the chassis and suspension are derived directly from the original Austin Seven, following in the footsteps of the many great ‘Austin Seven Specials’ – competition cars which were built from the then ubiquitous Seven and which helped propel many racing drivers of the golden era to stardom and which also gave budding car manufacturers their first step towards becoming the legendary brands they are today – Lotus, McLaren, Jaguar, BMW and Nissan to name just a few.
